How much balance should I have in my account?

Enough to pay for all rides in one day. The rides will be debited from your account in one go the next day. If the debit is unsuccessful because there is not enough balance on your account, your contactless debit card or credit card will be blocked for checking in and out on public transport. We will then try to debit your account with the amount due up to three times. It varies per bank how long it takes before a new attempt will be made. Once your account has been debited, you can check in and out again with your contactless debit or credit card. If it is not possible to take out the amount due of your account, you must travel with your OV-chipkaart or buy a ticket.
