If your debit card expires (soon), you should receive a new debit card from your bank. Or you receive a new card because your old debit card was broken and you requested a new one. After receiving your new debit card, follow the step-by-step plan below to make the switch to your new debit card as easy as possible.
I already have a travel product on my debit card
1. Wait before activating
Wait before activating your new debit card. There may still be an active travel product on your current pass. It is currently not possible to transfer your travel product to a replacement or new debit card.
2. Activate your debit card
Activate your new debit card when your travel product on the old card has expired. Then follow your bank's instructions to activate the debit card.
3. Use your new debit card in the public transport
Take a public transport ride with your new debit card on the bus, tram or metro.
4. Add your debit card in My RET
A day after you travel for the first time with your new debit card, your bank account will be debited. You can use the information in this transaction to add your debit card to My RET.
You do this using the SRID and the debited amount. You can find this information in your online banking environment. The SRID is a combination of letters and numbers that starts with NLOV, followed by 14 numbers and letters (for example: NLOVB85YYB4E9XM5VF).
5. Buy a travel product
Now you can purchase your travel product again via My RET, which you can add to your new debit card.
