Changes to tram network in 2025

Our tram network will be changing from 6 January 2025. The trams will have different routes, line numbers and departure times. This could affect your journey.

Plan your trip from 6 januari 2025 at www.ret.nl/en

What are the main changes?

  • New tram line 6 to have a faster connection between Kleiweg and Rotterdam Central Station.
  • New tram line 8 to have a faster connection between Kleiweg and Rotterdam Central Station.
  • ‘Old' tram lines 23 and 25 will be shortened, requiring an extra transfer at Rotterdam Central Station. This will make the timetable more reliable and allow for easier frequency adjustments.
  • The Westplein, Willemskade, Willemsplein and Westerstraat stops will be cancelled on 'old' tram line 7.
  • The Benthuizerstraat and Zwaanshals stops will be cancelled on 'old' tram line 8.
  • There will be a new platform layout at Rotterdam Central station.
  • Tram lines 2 and 4 will remain unchanged.

What will the changes mean for your tram?
